It was redemption for Kostecki and Erebus in what has become one of the most remarkable stories seen in Supercars in recent years. Despite a dominant 2023 season, where Kostecki and Erebus claimed their maiden Supercars Championship title in the first year of Gen3 Supercars, they had unfinished business at Bathurst. Their lightning-fast Camaro and pole position couldn’t be converted into a win at the iconic endurance race, leaving them runners-up after falling just short of the top step of the podium. Kostecki delivered a brilliant lap in the Top Ten Shootout to claim pole position to become only the sixth driver in Bathurst 1000 history to claim back-to-back poles.
