With rising stars Cooper Murray — contesting his second Bathurst 1000 — and debutant Jobe Stewart behind the wheel, the #99 Camaro was once again right in the fight for glory. In treacherous, fast-changing conditions, the young pairing showed composure well beyond their experience. As the laps counted down, Murray found himself leading in a thrilling battle with James Golding. On lap 157, Golding made a daring move down the inside at Griffins Bend, tagging the Chiko Camaro and sending it towards the barriers. The move earned Golding a penalty, but heartbreakingly dropped the Erebus entry to fourth place in one of the most dramatic Bathurst finishes in recent memory. While victory narrowly slipped away, a fourth-place result was still an outstanding achievement for the team — and the #99 Chiko Camaro remains a fan favourite.
