Crafted by the women of Artisans Solidaires Kasserine, this handwoven rug transforms locally harvested halfa grass—also known as esparto—into a timeless floor covering rooted in Tunisia's craft traditions. Using techniques passed down through generations, artisans dye the fibers with natural colorants before weaving them on traditional looms. The result is a durable flat-weave kilim with a muted slate blue hue that brings warmth, texture, and understated color to contemporary interiors. Available in 2' x 3' and 3' x 5' sizes, the rug works beautifully in entryways, beside a bed, under a coffee table, or layered into larger spaces. Naturally resilient and lightweight, halfa grass has been used across North Africa for centuries. Each rug is woven by hand, preserving traditional knowledge while supporting sustainable livelihoods in western Tunisia.
